Can a CD Reverse the Negative Trends of Shacking Up and Divorce?
Keith Robertson, Nephew of the Famed R&B Legends The Isley Brothers, Has Set This Goal With The Release Of Debut CD, “Love, Life & Relationships”
Los Angeles, CA -- Amid declining marriage rates and divorce statistics for Christians that equals and sometimes outpaces non-believers, award-winning music industry veteran Keith Robertson has released a CD that aims to turn the tide against unrealistic views of love. Robertson’s first solo effort, “Love, Life & Relationships” is a 12 track homage to authentic spirit-filled love with lyrics that detail not only what it takes to walk down the aisle, but also the type of attitudes and actions needed to live out the marriage commitment.
According to recent numbers from the U.S. Census Bureau, the percentage of U.S. households with married couples is below 50 percent for the first time ever – alluding to the fact that more couples are deciding to just live together rather than risk marrying and divorcing. And a report by Barna Research Group indicated that even multiple divorces are common among Christians, with nearly one-quarter (23%) of married believers getting divorced two or more times.
“Love, Life & Relationships” was designed by Robertson to start a movement that would combat these negative statistics. In addition to being the nephew of Chris Jasper and Rudolph Isley of the Isley Brothers, Robertson is a Writer, Performer, Musician, and Producer who has received a multi-platinum award for his participation in N-Sync’s “No Strings Attached” CD and is frequently called on to produce tracks for some of network and cable TV’s most popular shows.
Steered by Robertson’s incredible songwriting talent and musical instincts, “Love, Life & Relationships” is strictly R&B. But unlike other soul artists, Robertson has seamlessly integrated his Christian faith into subject matter covering the issues of marriage, divorce, homelessness, singleness, courtship and conviction. “There doesn’t seem to be much music in these areas that truly minister’s to people,” remarks Robertson. “I wanted to fill that void.”
And fill the void he does, with intimate and realistic portrayals of love on songs like “Love You Like Crazy” and the instant wedding anthem “My Baby”. A classic heartbreak song and the first single released from the project, “Mi Corazon (My Heart)”, has already garnered top 10 single status in the United Kingdom.
The “Love, Life & Relationships” CD is spawning other forms of entertainment – including a companion book and other soon to be revealed life changing ministries. Through it all, Robertson intends to give his audience a realistic view of love while still recounting the joy of marriage – in hopes to change the course of divorce and matrimony for future generations.
